Is a gilet the same as a bodywarmer?

There is actually no difference between a gilet or a bodywarmer. They are the exact same thing but just named differently. Occasionally, you may find that bodywarmer is used to describe a vest that is fleeced or a softshell material, whilst a gilet is used to describe insulated pieces. At American Golf, we stick to ‘gilets’ or ‘vests’ to describe all of our sleeveless jackets.

Why should I wear a gilet when playing golf?

Gilets are perfect for keeping your torso warm whilst allowing your arms to remain free so that your swing unhindered. Whilst most golfers style their gilet over a polo shirt or mid layer, you can also wear them beneath a jacket to keep your body warm.
