Hybrid Clubs
Hybrids are an increasingly popular combination of both a longer iron and a fairway wood, hence the obvious naming – a hybrid of the two! When playing a lower iron, some players may struggle with consistency, ball striking, and gaining distance, which a fairway wood can go someway to correct. However, a woods' larger and rounder head size can prove more difficult to control or inefficient when rescuing a ball from the thick rough. This is where a hybrid club comes in; providing extreme forgiveness and generating a higher flying ball. Hybrids are the perfect size to cut through the heavy grass and help deliver a solid strike unlike a lower iron which gets stuck in the thick grass and thus prompts a chunky connection.
